I would hope that with the Archive now in Vienna, there would nevertheless be a way to reinstitute (pun intended) Schoenberg-related concerts and events in Los Angeles.  (A selfish suggestion. . . )

Musicologists (and others with musical training beyond mine, which consists of playing the contrabassoon in amateur orchestras) might get a laugh (if they are not offended) by my web page, "Smelly Cheese Composers," on the Unknown Composers page.  It was written by someone for whom the first exposure to twelve-tone music was one of life's great revelations (I started to type revolutions!).

I'm in the midst of a long-term rehearsal sequence for Schoenberg Op. 29 which started in mid-July and should culminate in a series of performances beginning in mid-March. As a Schoenberg devotee since my school days I can only recommend to the doubtful some process of sustained immersion to reveal the greatness and attractiveness of this music!

I've just purchased Ozawa's recording, but it does not come with text or translation, unfortunately. Since I'm just learning the piece (in preparation for when the Chicago Symphony performs it this summer--I plan to attend the performance), I really need the text & translation so I can know what's going on!
